Bodies in Motion

Digital video, 2018. 11.34 Minutes.

Bodies in Motion responds to the life and work of Margaret Morris, the British dancer, choreographer and founder of The Margaret Morris Movement and the Scottish National Ballet. The work repurposes footage from a 1973 educational film narrated by and starring Margaret Morris. This archive film becomes a point of departure from which to consider how movement, rhythm and composition act as means of communication and forms of knowledge that belie the predominance of language and demand new, immanent ways of looking at and listening to the world.
